Wisdom

Good morning everyone, a wise person once gave me what I consider, two very important pieces of information. He said, when you pray ask for protection and if you pray just for yourself, your prayers will go nowhere. For a lifetime now I have paid attention to his words. So everyday I ask for the protection of myself, my family, friends, and students, I ask that the peacekeepers of our world keep our planet safe and for those having hard times; that they may find Solace in their faith in Jesus Christ. I am happy to pass this on to you. Good morning.

Dear Educators and To Busy To Pay Attention Parents:

Has anyone expressed a concern as to the “Reading Comprehension Tests “  being  given to our children in grades 3 – 7?  I became aware of the concern when my daughter read to me a story my grandson had to read as part of a reading comprehension test. The story was titled, “Sunday Blues”. I found it odd how negative the story became as she read it to me. Then, my daughter read to me the questions my grandson was required to answer as part of his understanding of what he just read. The multiple choices answers became even more negative than the story.  With each story read to me by my daughter over the course of a couple of days the stories became even more negative. My grandson was getting low scores from his teacher on his test and was told he did not understand what he was reading. My grandson is and always has been a straight “A” student.  I started to hear the concern in my daughter’s voice as we spoke each morning. This all came to a head when my granddaughter, also a straight “A’ student all of her life, (13 years old) received a 50% on a reading comprehension test.  Story line …mother sick, young child taking care of younger children, father works in Light House that gets hit by a tsunami  and now no one knows if he is died.  The multiple choice questions even worse.   I will jump right to the heart of this open letter.  It is my feeling that this is an attempt to attack the minds of our young to adapt a liberal passive mind set.  I see this as part of our governments continued efforts to weaken us from within and a very poor attempt to disguise it all under the premises of teaching empathy, passion and mercy.  I see this as only an attack on our young and I know, if you as a parent, learned of some one that was trying to hurt your child physically now or in the future, you would not just stand by and watch.  I have all intentions of sending this letter to the Florida State Senate, Change.org , etc. Our children and grandchildren are experiencing subliminal attacks daily by negative reading material. I watched the Common Core Video and witness teachers being fed tactics, instead of real ideas, on how to come together and teach. Teachers asked to describe and give a word that would represent a title for an obvious Common Core protocol and when they got it right, the Common Core officiator would say “see how that makes sense”.  When they got it wrong, that’s okay, you’re on the same wavelength as the creators of the Common Core Program. This is unacceptable by any standard.

Professional Martial Arts Competitors

THE OPEN
Competitors

I stopped competing for a while. I guess I just got too busy with work. But now, with this website, life just got easier. I'm getting back in shape. I just produced my first video for this website. It was not difficult. Make sure your video is no longer than 4 minutes long. Now send it up to www.YouTube.com. Once it uploads, bring the YouTube URL to this website. You will need to register here and pay your entrance fee. You’re done! Can it be any easier? When the month in which I entered my video arrives, my video, along with other videos of competitors that have entered that month, will stream. Pretty neat? Here is the part I like the best. Only competitors that have registered and entered into that month's competition will do the judging of these videos. We will be rated by world-class competitors. Please note: You must be logged in to rate videos. You can only rate videos if you are a competitor competing in the active month. All videos, however, may be viewed by everyone. I am excited! Nice talking with you. Special Note: All Competitors, after you upload your video proceed to the EVENT LOUNGE to rate your fellow competitors.

The Martial Arts Network has been around a very long time.

We love the Martial Arts and would like to take you back to a time in our very beginning through pages of our then Guestbook. Many of these famous martial artists are no longer with us. When you come across someone you knew or an Instructor you have trained with, please give mention to them in our new Forum.

Thank you for the kind words. My business, "West Boca Karate", established in 1986, in the Shoppes of Loggers Run, keeps me busy. With over 500 Black Belts and thousands of loyal and happy customers, (over our 26 years span) I am now able do things in our community like helping to get Alan West elected was very important to me. I would like to say, Linda, my wife, and I both enjoy listening to you each morning. I heard you and Jim speaking about Iran and would like to weigh in. Sanctions against Iran are nothing more than a tool they will use against us at a later date. They also have a tendency to hurt the people of the country and make them mad. Change can only take place in this country in two ways, as I see it. 1. Change needs to come from within. The people of Iran have to say they have had enough. Methods like social media can work, however will take longer and can be interfered with by the government of Iran. 2. More effective and I feel will be much faster, would be to get to the Iranian citizens that exist behind the scenes/shadows, the ones that have the ears and power that control the Iranian government. I would venture to say that the CIA knows exactly who these people are and where they live. More than likely, many of them live in the USA and some countries we are friendly with. Force these people to move back to their country, Iran, and uproot their entire lives. Brian, the opposite of Love is not hate, it's indifference. When you dismiss a persons existence or a countries existence, for that matter, that is effective pain. Change will come much quicker when the right people can feel the loss.

Thank you again

Ron
